INNOVATION HISTORY

1964
Commercialized butyl rubber
At the time when natural rubber was state of the art, we developed a clean synthetic rubber formulation suitable for use as medical and pharmaceutical components.

1982
Laminated rubber stoppers
Developed a barrier fluoropolymer lamination technology to reduce interaction between drug substance and the component. This is leading technology in the market and has been adopted globally within pharmaceutical industry.

Laminated pistons
Created pre-filled syringe systems with fully laminated pistons.

1990
Daikyo CZ
Based on high transparency COP resin, developed first containers meeting demanding needs of the pharmaceutical industry.

1991
RB2 Coating
Developed anti-sticking coating technology for components, as an alternative towards free silicone oil treatment.

1993
Daikyo CZ vials
First COP vials has been introduced to the market. This polymer-based container solution shows highest stress resistance and transparency at the same time meting requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.

Daikyo CZ Prefillable Syringes
Fluoropolymer laminated piston combined with a CZ barrel make siliconization of the PFS barrel redundant.

2001
CZ P3
This customized COP resin formulation has been designed to protect light sensitive drugs. Containers based on this light-protective material complies with JP/EP/USP.

2006
DAIKYO RSV®
RSV certified components undergo in a closed ISO room environment washing process with final WFI rinse. This portfolio allows customers to omit component washing on their manufacturing sites.

2010
PLASCAP®
Developed PLASCAP, next generation plastic caps with pre-assembled rubber stopper to replace aluminum caps, enabling one-step capping of vials.
DAIKYO RUV CRYSTAL ZENITH®
Together with West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. we developed CZ-RU (ready-to-use) containers, which are electron-beam sterilized.

DAIKYO RUV®
Introduction of ready-to-use, validated steam sterilized components. This portfolio allows customers to reduce their manufacturing footprint by washing and sterilization of components.

DAIKYO D SIGMA
Launch of highest quality components within the portfolio, including cutting edge automated vision inspection down to 0.01mm².

Kanegafuchi Gomu Kako Co., Ltd. founded
Founded in Sumida-ku, Tokyo as a manufacturer of industrial rubber products.

1973
Partnership with West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.
Partnership commenced with West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. marking our start of working with global pharmaceutical companies.

1993
Company name changed to Daikyo Seiko, Ltd.
Changed the company name to “Daikyo”, indicating that the company provides overall packaging solutions, containers and components.

1996
ISO 9001 certified
Introduced quality management standards to meet global requirements.

2006
Established Sano Haneda Plant Ⅱ
Built a second plant to meet growing global demand.

2016
ISO 15378 certified
Accomplished ISO certification for manufacturing of primary packaging products for pharmaceutical use.

2017
Moved the Head Office to Sano City
Relocated the head office to Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, the region where all manufacturing plants are located.

Established the Innovation Laboratory
Established centralized R&D facility that serves as an integrated state of the art innovation hub.
